WWI Ambulance

World War I & Rotating Exhibits

The General George S. Patton Jr. Gallery showcases America’s early motorized combat vehicles, featuring a M1917 tank, U.S. Liberty Truck, Model T ambulance, and World War I-era artillery. The gallery also explores themes of Liberation, Freedom, Patriotism, Honor, and key conflicts, ending with a Reflection Wall where visitors can share their thoughts on military history.

Unknown Soldiers Weapons Vault

The National Museum of Military Vehicles’ Unknown Soldiers Weapons Vault features over 200 firearms, showcasing weapons from the American Revolution to the present day. Highlights include the musket used by PVT John Simpson to fire the first shot at the Battle of Bunker Hill, a range of machine guns from early models like the M1909 Benet-Mercie to modern ones such as the M249 SAW, as well as portable anti-tank and anti-aircraft weapons. The collection also includes Winchester firearms produced between 1866 and 1964, along with unique items like an MP5 concealed in a briefcase and a Liberator Pistol with its original box.
