Our educational programming at the National Museum of Military Vehicles continues to thrive. This fall, we’ve welcomed students from elementary through high school for immersive field trips that connect classroom learning with hands-on exploration of American military history, innovation, and service.
During each visit through, guided discussions on civic duty and sacrifice, we tailor to Wyoming’s social studies standards and the developmental needs of our learners. High school students engaged in artifact analysis and oral history, while younger students explored themes of teamwork and resilience through interactive exhibits and storytelling.
Veterans Day
We’re especially proud of our continued collaboration with Fremont County School District #2 for our annual Veterans Day programming.
Together, we honor local Veterans through student-led tributes, musical performances, and Veteran interviews that reflect our community’s deep respect for those who’ve served.
Veterans Day, originally known as Armistice Day, was established to commemorate the end of World War I on November 11, 1918.
In 1954, it was renamed Veterans Day to honor all U.S. military Veterans, and today it serves as a powerful reminder of the courage and commitment of our armed forces.
This fall, we’ve introduced new lesson plans focused on communication advancements during World War I. Students explore the evolution from signal flags and carrier pigeons to field telephones and encrypted radio transmissions. These lessons not only highlight technological innovation but also underscore the critical role of communication in shaping battlefield outcomes and global diplomacy.
As we look ahead, we remain committed to providing transformative learning experiences that honor our mission and empower the next generation of historians, leaders, and changemakers.
