It was our honor to host a full day of events at the National Museum of Military Vehicles on March 28 in recognition of National Vietnam Veterans Day and Wyoming Veterans Welcome Home Day, honoring Vietnam veterans and encouraging the public to recognize their service while many are still with us. The program included a tour of the Vietnam War gallery, the arrival of a Black Hawk helicopter, a welcome home ceremony, educational film screenings, and a featured presentation of the WyomingPBS documentary \u201cHome From the Vietnam War,\u201d which shares the story of U.S. Army Lt. Lee Alley, Wyoming\u2019s most decorated veteran\u2014from his heroic service in Vietnam to his struggles with PTSD and his ongoing work supporting fellow veterans. The day concluded with a panel discussion and public Q&A, offering a meaningful opportunity to acknowledge the sacrifices of Vietnam veterans\u2014many of whom did not receive the respect they deserved upon returning home\u2014and to extend long-overdue recognition and gratitude.<\/p>\n

Through ceremonies, exhibits, and a screening of WyomingPBS<\/span><\/span>\u2019s Home From the Vietnam War<\/em>, the event offered a chance to reflect, recognize, and say \u201cwelcome home\u201d to Vietnam veterans\u2014many for the first time.<\/p>\n
