The Doris Miller Annex honors the legacy of World War II hero Doris Miller. Miller was the first African American to be awarded the Navy Cross for his extraordinary bravery during the attack on Pearl Harbor. During the Japanese attack on December 7, 1941, Miller manned an anti-aircraft gun and rescued fellow sailors, including his captain.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Doris Miller Annex showcases naval weaponry, German and Japanese artillery.
