Our Mission

Dan Starks, Founder
In 2012, Dan Starks bought a tank. It was the start of something big. Since then he's acquired hundreds more tanks, jeeps, trucks, motorcycles, landing craft and other military vehicles. It's now the biggest collection of military rolling stock in in the U.S. outside of the armed forces themselves.
Unknown Soldiers Weapons Vault
There is a smaller museum within the museum featuring a historically significant collection of firearms -- including the fully authenticated musket that fired the first shot in the Revolutionary War Battle of Bunker Hill.

General Lewis "Chesty" Puller Gallery
The General Lewis "Chesty" Puller Gallery at the National Museum of Military Vehicles highlights the American experience during the Korean War and the Vietnam War. General Puller is the most decorated Marine in American history. He was awarded 5 Navy Crosses and one Distinguished Service Cross. With 6 crosses, Puller is second behind Eddie Rickenbacker for citations of the nation's second-highest military award for valor.
General George C. Marshall Gallery
The General George C. Marshall Gallery at the National Museum of Military Vehicles highlights the American experience during World War II. General Marshall was the head of the Army during World War II and was the architect of the Marshall plan to reconstruct Europe. Winston Churchill lauded Marshall as the "organizer of victory" for his leadership of the Allied victory in World War II.

National High Altitude Aviation Training Site (HAATS)
On September 6, 2023, the National Museum of Military Vehicles hosted the National High Altitude Aviation Training Site (HAATS). Two Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawks and one CH-47 Chinook helicopter landed.
Navy '83 Ride Across America
On September 7, 2023, the National Museum of Military Vehicles welcomed the Navy '83 Ride Across America. This cross-country cycling event was organized by members of the Naval Academy Class of '83 Alumni.
Remembering the Veterans Who Participated in the Mayaguez Rescue
The National Museum of Military Vehicles honored the veterans who participated in the Mayaguez rescue on the 46th anniversary of the battle. During the ceremony, a Mayaguez Tribute Truck escorted by Patriot Guards Riders was donated to the museum and 41 Americans who fell during the battle were honored with TAPS, followed by a reunion of surviving Mayaguez veterans. The ceremony was held May 15, 2021.
General Lewis "Chesty" Puller Gallery Ribbon Cutting
The National Museum of Military Vehicles opened its newest gallery on May 26, 2021 with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the museum. The General Lewis "Chesty" Puller Gallery honors the service of the millions of Americans who served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

Chance Phelps Theatre

Dan Daly & Roy Benavidez Meeting Rooms
The Dan Daly & Roy Benavidez Meeting Rooms can accommodate up to 77 guests. The rooms can be partitioned for multi-use purposes. To plan your next event with us please contact info@nmmv.org.
Food Service
The museum has opened its restaurant, “The Canteen,” where guests can grab lunch, dinner or a snack. Also, the museum has a large “Assembly Hall” with a commercial kitchen that can accommodate hundreds of guests. There are also seven outdoor picnic areas.

The gift shop is stocked full of the latest National Museum of Military Vehicles apparel and souvenirs. Be sure to stop by during your visit. Or, shop online now!
